VERANTEC at drupa 2024 in Düsseldorf
drupa, the world’s leading trade fair for print technologies, draws industry leaders and professionals to Düsseldorf every four years. With groundbreaking exhibitions and cutting-edge innovations, the show provides a global platform for showcasing new products, services, and ideas.
For the 2024 edition, held from May 28 to June 7, Koenig & Bauer AG (Würzburg) – the world’s oldest printing press manufacturer – joined forces with their joint venture partner Durst Group AG (South Tyrol), a leader in inkjet and industrial printing systems. Together, they presented their innovations across a massive 6,000 m² of exhibition space – and relied on VERANTEC as their technical partner.
Full-Service Excellence by VERANTEC
VERANTEC was tasked with the entire technical design and delivery:
- Rigging
- Lighting
- LED systems
- Audio technology
- Media control
- Daily live show operations on a 153° curved main LED screen (14 × 4 m) over 11 show days
Our team invested months of meticulous planning to ensure every technical aspect met the highest expectations. From pre-visualization and signal flow to showtime delivery, our technicians implemented the vision of Koenig & Bauer and Durst with unmatched precision and creativity.
What we delivered
Our equipment and crew arrived on-site in early May with several full truckloads of gear. The installation included:
Rigging:
- 1,400 m of Prolyte H40V truss, supported by 196 Movecat motors
Lighting:
- ~540 LED fixtures from Robe, SGM, and Roxx
Audio:
- 56 loudspeakers, including 4 line arrays from d&b audiotechnik
- Controlled via Yamaha Rivage PM3, QSC Q-SYS Core, and Shure Axient
Media Systems:
- Central video processing via Analog Way Aquilon
- 24 media in-/outputs
Cabling:
- ~11,000 m of power and signal cable
- ~1,000 m of fiber optics

Total: 881 LED tiles
- 336 tiles @ 1.9 mm pitch
- 325 tiles @ 2.5 mm
- 220 tiles @ 2.8 mm
Koenig & Bauer:
- Main Curved LED Wall: 14 × 4 m (224 tiles, 1.9 mm pitch)
- 2 Hanging LED Walls: 5 × 3 m each (2× 60 tiles, 2.8 mm pitch)
- Joint Venture Wall: 10 × 2.5 m (100 tiles, 2.8 mm pitch)
Durst:
- LED Cube: 4 sides @ 3.5 × 2 m (112 tiles, 1.9 mm pitch)
- Wide LED Wall: 28 × 2.5 m (280 tiles, 2.5 mm pitch)
- Compact LED Wall: 4.5 × 2.5 m (45 tiles, 2.5 mm pitch)
