“Nacht der Nächte” 2026 – When our trainees take full charge of the event
On Saturday, February 7, 2026, it was that time again: Our annual trainee project, “Nacht der Nöchte,” transformed the multipurpose hall in Unterpleichfeld into a carnival venue—planned, built, and managed by our next generation of employees. From the initial idea through technical planning to on-site execution, the responsibility lay entirely with our trainees.
And that’s exactly the point: training becomes tangible when you don’t just watch, but make decisions, coordinate, solve problems, and ultimately see (and above all hear) that it works.
What makes “Nacht der Nächte” special as a trainee project
“Night of Nights” is not a classroom exercise. It is a real event, with real demands, real trades, and real time pressure. Our trainees learn not only technical skills, but also:
- Project planning & workflow coordination
- Team and shift organization
- Logistics & material procurement
- Communication within the project team
- Show operations under live conditions
- Proper wrap-up procedures, including a debriefing
Or as the video aptly puts it:
“We trainees handle the project from start to finish. From planning to execution, and overseeing the entire process.”
The 2026 Team: many young people, a lot of responsibility
This year, a total of six trainees were involved in the project: five aspiring event technology specialists in their 1st through 3rd years of training, as well as one trainee event manager. Additionally, two candidates for the new training year were on board, along with a student intern. The bottom line is: plenty of energy, many helping hands, and a project where you visibly grow both professionally and as a team.
From setup to teardown: how the project works in practice
The key is that the trainees don’t just “tag along,” but actually run the show, including the technical implementation:
- Technical setup: Stage construction, lighting, PA, FOH, cabling, patching, testing
- Event day: Supervision, troubleshooting, keeping an eye on the flow
- Teardown & Return: pack everything neatly, load it up, store it in the warehouse, clean up
- Debriefing: What went well? Where did things get stuck? What lessons did we learn?
This chain of events is particularly valuable: Planning is one thing—seeing it through to a clean finish is another.
Freedom within boundaries: creative but realistic
To ensure the project remains not only creative but also practical, there are clear guidelines. One of these has almost become a tradition for us: We can bring anything that fits into a 40-ton truck. This forces sensible planning, efficient material allocation, and prevents the “let’s just take everything” mentality. At the same time, safety and professional execution always take precedence over showy gimmicks. Freedom, yes, but never at the expense of standards.
Why we do this
Because it works. Projects like “Nacht der Nächte” are a live baptism by fire—in the best sense of the word. Our trainees experience what it means to pull off an event as a team, make decisions, and take responsibility. Theory becomes reality, including the learning curve.
Thanks to everyone involved
Thanks to everyone who made this project possible. For your dedication, organization, teamwork, and the drive to execute this project flawlessly from start to finish.
Nacht der Nächte is a reminder every year: Great event technology isn’t just about the equipment, but about the people who know how to use it.
